Coroner Identifies Man Killed in Spring Township Construction Accident

no description

A 27-year-old Clearfield County man died by high voltage electrocution in an accident on Monday afternoon at a construction site in Spring Township, Centre County Coroner Scott Sayers reported on Wednesday.

Anthony Laterzo, of Hawk Run, was in a ditch installing a new sewer line at the Logan Greene development on Rolling Ridge Drive when an excavator came near an overhead power line. The power line arced, sending an electrical charge through the machine and onto the ground, electrocuting Laterzo.

Laterzo was standing 42 feet away from the excavator, according to Spring Township police. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration and Spring Township Police are investigating the incident.
