Thursday, May 7, 2026 we will observe the 75th Annual National Day of Prayer, just a few weeks before America commemorates the 250th anniversary of our nation’s birth! The theme for the National Day of Prayer is “Glorify God Among the Nations, Seeking Him in all Generations.” This theme is not about elevating ourselves; it’s about magnifying God alone. Scripture calls us to: “Tell of His glory among the nations, His wonderful deeds among all the peoples.” (1 Chronicles 16:24 NASB)
Several events are planned in the Centre region to recognize this day. The local chapter of the Christian BusinessMen’s Connection is holding an open prayer event on the grounds of the Pennsylvania Military Museum (51 Boal Ave, Boalsburg PA). Come join us at 7 or 8 a.m. at the parade ground flagpole, uplifting our nation, its government and officials, our military, law enforcement officers and first responders, as well as all that serve this nation and our community. Coffee will be available. In the event of bad weather, we will meet at the Museum Gazebo.
There will also be an event from noon to 1 p.m. on May 7th at the Talleyrand Park in Bellefonte at the Gazebo. Several local church leaders and community leaders will be participating in recognition of the day. All are invited to join and pray for our nation and community.
The Park Forest Village United Methodist Church will be open to the public for prayer in the sanctuary on May 7th, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. with a prayer service at noon.
