Centre Region Parks and Recreation will hold its second annual free paper shredding event from noon to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 15, at Oak Hall Regional Park.

Individuals can bring up to four boxes of unwanted papers for shredding, according to a CRPR news release. Volunteers will take the boxes from vehicles to the shredding truck, so there is no need for residents to get out of their cars.

Volunteers from Culbertson Financial Services, which is sponsoring the event, will direct vehicles through the parking area to the drop-off area and to the exit.

Any binder clips should be removed before dropping off paper.

The event will be held rain or shine, and though it is scheduled to run until 5 p.m. it will end earlier if the shredding truck is filled to capacity. CRPR’s social media accounts will provide any announcements about the truck’s status.

While participation is free, cash or check donations to support the Centre Region Parks and Recreation’s Youth Scholarship Program are welcome. A donation box will be available at the shredding drop-off area and agency staff and volunteers will be available to help or answer any questions.
