South Water Street in Bellefonte is reduced to one-way traffic between Mill and West High streets after a partial wall collapse on Saturday.
Traffic leaving Bellefonte toward State College is traveling on the one open lane on South Water Street. Inbound traffic toward Bellefonte is being directed onto Stoney Batter.
Large commercial vehicles are encouraged to avoid downtown Bellefonte unless for local deliveries, according to the borough police department.
The wall collapse occurred along Spring Creek. The lane closure “may be in place for some time,” according to a PennDOT news release on Saturday night.
“PennDOT will review repair options and make repairs as quickly as possible to provide two-way traffic through the area,” the release stated.
Police urged drivers to be cautious as the closure may cause traffic congestion.
