The Republican nominee for Pennsylvania governor will campaign in the Centre Region next month.

Doug Mastriano’s “Restore Freedom Tour” will host a rally in State College on Tuesday, Nov. 1, he announced this week. The event will begin at 5 p.m. at the C3 Sports complex, 200 Ellis Place.

The state senator from Franklin County and his wife, Rebbie, will speak at the event, which is slated for one week before Election Day. Far-right activist and media figure Jack Posobiec will also speak at the rally.

Admission for Mastriano’s rally is free, although attendees are required to digitally RSVP online.

Mastriano is facing Democratic nominee and current Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro in the race for governor.

He joins a short list of high-profile candidates to visit the State College area this election season.

Shapiro spoke at the Centre County Democratic Committee’s summer picnic in August and John Fetterman, the Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate, featured at the county Democrats fall dinner in October. Republican U.S. Senate nominee Mehmet Oz, greeted Penn Staters in the tailgate lots at Beaver Stadium before the Nittany Lions played Northwestern on Oct. 1.

Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 8. Visit centrecountyvotes.gov to learn more about the upcoming election, find your polling place and review a sample ballot for your precinct.
