Centre County crews will spray for adult mosquitoes beginning late Friday evening in residential and recreational areas of Patton Township.
“High populations of nuisance adult mosquitoes affecting residents in these neighborhoods have been reported and confirmed in these areas,” Centre County Mosquito Disease Control (MDC) Program Coordinator Wayne N. Laubscher said in a news release.
The truck-mounted truck-mounted ultra-low volume mosquito control operation will be conducted by Centre County MDC with assistance from the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection’s Mosquito-Borne Disease Program.
Water-based Aquaduet, which Laubscher said is designed to provide quick knockdown and effective control of adult mosquitoes, will be sprayed at a rate of .66 ounces per acre.
The work is weather-dependent and if delayed will be rescheduled for early next week.
