Anna is survived by her sister Frances (Fran) Gomola Walters and brother George Gomola, brother-in-law Frank Walters and four generations of nieces and nephews.

Anna was born in Clarence Pennsylvania on January 18, 1916. She is preceded in death by her parents Frank Gomola and Hedwig Seprish Gomola; brothers John Gomola, Joseph Gomola and Steve Gomola; sisters Mary Gomola Lebert, Susan Gomola Kovach, Stephanie Gomola Hawke, Sophie Gomola Wagner, Joan Gomola Scouten; brothers-in-law Al Lebert, John Kovach, Francis Hawke, David Wagner, Carl Scouten; sisters-in-law Margaret Josephson Gomola, Helen Josephson Gomola, Lorraine Johnson Gomola, Joan Good Gomola and numerous nieces and nephews.

Anna spent her early childhood in Pennsylvania then moved to New York City as a young teen and her first job was as a live-in nanny. After her nanny job she became a seamstress and patternmaker and worked in the night gown industry until her retirement at the age of 70. She resided with her sister Mary and brother-in-law Al Lebert while in New York. In 1999 Anna left the big city to become a resident of Florida when she moved in with her niece June and her husband Larry. From 1999 until January 2014, she split her time between her original homestead in Pennsylvania with her sister-in-law Helen Gomola and her niece and nephew in Florida. While living with her niece and nephew she continued to spend the winter months in Florida and her summer months with them at their cabin in North Carolina.

Anna was very active throughout her life and traveled whenever she got the opportunity. She enjoyed Pinochle cards games, fishing, bowling, and watching Larry’s softball games in person. She also found joy in visiting friends at the senior center, going to church, and staying in touch with family and friends by letter and phone. Watching baseball games on TV was another favorite pastime and she was a lifelong Yankee’s fan. She often took a subway to Yankee Stadium and saw Babe Ruth play live.

Anna attended both the Queen of Archangels Catholic Church in Clarence, PA and our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church in Bokeelia, FL. When she no longer could attend church, she watched the Masses on TV.
