Charles A. Wells, 88, of Spring Mills, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, January 2, 2026, at William Penn Nursing and Rehabilitation in Lewistown. Born on December 1, 1937, in Centre Hall, he was the son of the late John H. and Maude A. (Eurgard) Wells. Charlie was born at home on November 30, 1937, however because the doctor did not arrive at their home until later, they say he was born December 1st. On September 21, 1968, at the Sprucetown Methodist Church, he married the love of his life, Linda L. Treaster, who preceded him in death in 1997.
Charlie attended Centre Hall/ Potter High School. He was a truck driver for R W Bird Trucking. He retired after 17 years of service with them. Prior to driving truck, he farmed and enjoyed it greatly.
Charlie was a member of Penns Valley Area Young Farmers, where he and his wife spent many years as participants and enjoyed traveling to conferences. He was also a member of the Nittany Antique Machinery Association, and a member of the Progress Grange. In his younger years, he would assist in setting up Grange Fair. He used to pull antique tractors over the years and loved to travel all over with three of his buddies and square dancing. He was kind and loving man that took pride in what he did. He will be forever missed and loved.
Charlie is survived by two sons, Stanley C. Wells and his wife, Jennifer, of Rebersburg and Adam C. Wells of Spring Mills, and a daughter in-law, Kathy L. Wells of Spring Mills.
Along with his wife and parents, Charlie was preceded in death by his son, John B. Wells in 2022 and his only siblings, Ronald “Ronnie” Wells and Nancy Wells.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, from 5pm to 8pm and Thursday, January 8, 2026. from 10am to 11am at the Barbara Daughenbaugh Funeral Home in Centre Hall. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at 11am with Pastor Mike Covalt officiating. He will be laid to rest at Centre County Memorial Park immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Fellowship Bible Church, 263 Reeder Rd, Spring Mills, PA 16875 or to the Sprucetown Methodist Church, 177 Upper Georges Valley Road, Spring Mills, PA 16875.
