Charles E. Rishel, of Centre Hall, went home to be with his Lord on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at Mount Nittany Medical Center. He was 92. Born February 19, 1929 in Millheim, Charles was a son of the late Andrew W. and Madaline “Houser” Rishel.  ​Charles attended the one-room elementary school at Tussey Sink in Potter Township and graduated from the Centre Hall Potter High School in 1946.  Charles served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. On June 5, 1954, he married Dollie M. Harter who preceded him in death in 1997.

Charles was the owner/operator of Charles E. Rishel Construction for 49 years before he retired. He was a member of the Tusseyville Emmanuel​ Union United Church of Christ where he was active in many capacities within the church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading his bible and tenting at Grange Fair. This would have been his 75th year to stay at the Fair. Charles loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

Charles is survived by one daughter, Christine Selders (Mark) of Port Matilda; two sons, William M. Rishel of Bellefonte and Kent L. Rishel (Sharon) of Madisonburg, two sisters, Ruth Emma Rishel of Centre Hall and Sandra Rishel of Bellefonte, along with numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by one son, Keith Rishel, one grandson, Wesley Rishel and one brother, Paul Rishel.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6-8 pm at the Steven R. Neff Funeral Home on Thursday, June 24, 2021.  The funeral service for Charles will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, June 25, 2021 at Tusseyville Emmanuel ​Union UCC with Pastors Craig Munnell and Russell Sauerwein officiating. Charles will be laid to rest in Centre County Memorial Park during a private family burial.
