Cheryl Lynn Watkins, 69, of Bellefonte, passed away on Monday, July 29, 2024, at Harmony at State College. Born on September 29, 1954, in Athens, PA, she was the daughter of the late John and Jeanette (Lilley) Watkins. 

Cheryl was a 1972 graduate of Athens Area High School. She loved people and worked for decades in retail management, most recently at the Dress Barn and Wegman’s until her retirement in 2022. 

She is survived by her three children, Julie Nau (Greg) of Bellefonte, Jessica Schumacher (Jay) of York, and Jennifer McCartney of New York; 10 grandchildren: Josselyn, Jayla, Abigail, Stephen, John, Adam, Zachary, Kyle, Hannah, and Christopher, and two great grandchildren, Jonah and Ada. Also surviving are two brothers, Mark Watkins (Christine) of Fleetwood, and Scott Watkins (Cici) of Sayre. 

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Jim Watkins. 

Cheryl attended Faith United Methodist Church in Bellefonte. Cheryl had an adventurous spirit and an infectious laugh that filled a room. She was a loving and dedicated daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother who loved with her whole heart. She was a loyal friend and will be greatly missed. 

Family and friends will be received on Monday, August 5, 2024, from 1:00-2:00 PM, at Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc., 206 N. Spring Street, Bellefonte. A memorial service will immediately follow, at the funeral home, with Rev. Andrew Morgan officiating. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Cheryl to the Bellefonte Senior Center, 110 N. Spring Street, Bellefonte, PA 16823, or to Faith United Methodist Church, 512 Hughes Street, Bellefonte, PA 16823.

The family would like to extend their most sincere gratitude to the staff at Grane Hospice and Pastor David Hersh for their compassion and care they showed to Cheryl during her time of need.
