Clark L. Baumgardner, 70, of Snow Shoe, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 19, 2023 at the Embassy at Hearthside Nursing Home in State College. Born on December 18, 1952, in Philipsburg, he was the son of the late Clair C. and Olive M. (McKinley) Baumgardner.
Clark was a 1970 graduate of Bald Eagle Area High School. He enlisted in the US Navy shortly after high school. He earned the rank of PN3 and received the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Award for his years of service. He worked at various manufacturers over the years but worked as a mail carrier for the Bellefonte Post Office before retiring in 2017.
Clark was a member of the Young Democratic Club in Clarence, Clarence American Legion Post 813, Snow Shoe VFW Post 5644, and the Clarence Moose Lodge 1565. He enjoyed socializing, showing off his cars and motorcycles, and fishing. He loved his family, especially his nieces and nephews.
Clark is survived by his two brothers: Lane H. Baumgardner of Bellefonte and Timothy C. Baumgardner of Snow Shoe, and one sister, Myrtle V. Walters of Snow Shoe.
Along with his parents, Clark was preceded in death by four sisters: Claire Baumgardner, Audrey Lyons, Charlotte Yurky, and Barbara Soder.
Visitation will be on Monday, January 23, 2023, from 10-11a.m. followed by a memorial service at 11a.m. with Pastor Cathy Dittman officiating at the Daughenbaugh Funeral Home in Snow Shoe. Burial will be private at Askey Cemetery in Snow Shoe Twp.
