Dee Ann Dowling, 62, of Pennsylvania Furnace, died Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at home surrounded by her family.

Born July 25, 1962, in Huntingdon, she was the daughter of the late Edwin and Marian Kennedy Longenecker. On November 7, 1987 she married Carl Thomas Dowling, who survives.

She is also survived by her three children, Kaitlyn Elizabeth Bowman (Skylar) of Downingtown, Lauren Nicole Dowling and Nathan Thomas Dowling, both of Pennsylvania Furnace; sister, Jeannie Baney (Gordon) of Petersburg; and grandchildren, Aiden and Ryder. She was predeceased by her sister, Mary Lou Frazer.

Dee Ann was a 1980 graduate of Juniata Valley High School and went onto Central Pennsylvania Business School (Summerdale PA) earning an associate’s degree.

Dee’s career spans Penn State University as a staff assistant, Nittany/National Penn/Truist Bank and Christine’s Hallmark store as an associate.

Dee Ann cherished her grandchildren and creating wonderful memories with them. Shopping for a special outfit or toy for Aiden and Ryder gave her great joy, especially when seeing the delight in their faces. She loved animals both in the wild and those in her home, especially her cats.

Dee was an awesome cook and baker, known for her peanut butter fudge, coffee cake and secret recipe mac & cheese. She was also an avid football fan favoring Penn State (of course), the Steelers and whatever team Saquon Barkley was playing for.
