Donald Patrick Murnyack of State College, PA, a devoted husband, proud father, loving grandfather, precious son, respected businessman, and veteran of the United States Navy, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2026 at the age of 82.
He was the beloved husband of Patricia (Guenot) Murnyack, with whom he shared 57 wonderful years of marriage. Their life together was a testament to enduring love, partnership, and mutual respect.
Donald was the son of the late George Murnyack and Elizabeth Murnyack (Dudish) of Clarence, PA, a proud father of three daughters: Tammy Murray (and husband, Dennis Murray) of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; Jennifer Murnyack-Garner (and husband, John Garner) of Martinsburg, PA; and Dawn Murnyack-Rowell (and husband, Joe Rowell) of Boalsburg, PA. He was also a cherished grandfather to eight grandchildren, who were truly the greatest joy of his life. They were his favorite part of the world, and he treasured every moment spent with them. They will forever carry his love, guidance, and the special memories he created with each of them.
Born March 17, 1944 in Clarence, PA, he lived a life defined by hard work, integrity, and deep love for his family. Donald graduated from Bald Eagle Area High School in 1962. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy, carrying that same sense of duty and discipline into every chapter of his life.
Following his military service, he grew his own construction company, where he built not only homes, but also lasting relationships within the community. He took great pride in his craftsmanship, his strong work ethic, and the reputation he earned through years of honest, dependable service. He was a member of the American Legion.
He will be remembered for his strength, generosity, and unyielding love.
He is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, and many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
A viewing will be held on Monday, March 23, 2026 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton Street, State College, where family and friends are invited to celebrate his life and share memories. A funeral mass will be held at our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 820 Westerly Parkway, State College on Tuesday, March 24, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. Donald will then be interred at Centre County Memorial Park, 1032 Benner Pike, State College, PA with full military honors. A brunch will be hosted by Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church following the services.
