Edward Axtel Kerr, Jr., 86, of Howard passed away December 3, 2022 at his home, his loving family by his side. He was born September 25, 1936, in Titusville, PA, the son of Edward A. and Dora (Cochran) Kerr.
Edward graduated from Titusville Area High School, Class of 1954. After graduation, he served with the United States Air Force from 1954-1958. Following his service he attended The Pennsylvania State University where he graduated with a degree in Physical Education. He was a teacher and assistant football and wrestling coach at Steelton-Highspire from 1962-1966, a part of his life he spoke of often and of which he was very fond and very proud. He moved back to State College to work for Hoy Transfer from 1966 – 1973 before finally settling into a long career with the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office from 1973-1999. In 1983 he met and married his beloved wife of 39 years, Jennifer Long. He retired from the AG’s office in 1999 as a regional director to be at home with his two sons who spent the next several years keeping him very busy. Edward was a member of the Masons for more than 50 years.
Edward is survived by his wife, Jennifer (Long) Kerr, their sons Sean Kerr and his wife Caitlin, Seth Kerr and his wife Deborah, his son Craig Kerr and his daughter Cherrie Cumpston; eight grandchildren, Mike and Tim Moriarta, Jamie and Ronnie Taube, Becky Marshall, Kyle and Tara Kerr, and Thomas Kerr; two sisters Carol Duliakas and Judy Lamberton; nephews and nieces, Jim, Joel and Nichole Duliakas and David and Debbie Lamberton.
