Eddie L. Witherite, 62, of Bellefonte, passed away suddenly on Saturday, November 23, 2024. He was doing what he enjoyed doing, working on his truck. Born on June 2, 1962, he was the son of the late Malcolm J. and Marjorie L. (Litz) Witherite, Sr. On May 17, 1986, at the Brookside Wesleyan Church, he married Tammy D. Eminhizer. Tammy survives at home.
Eddie attending Bald Eagle Area High School. He was of the Christian faith. He worked for Jack Frost Construction for over 30 years and more recently, he worked for the Milesburg Borough in the Maintenance Department.
Eddie enjoyed working on automobiles, tinkering around at his place and at his brother’s garage, and watching NASCAR. He looked forward to hunting season and couldn’t wait to get to his favorite spot and watch for deer. When Eddie got a chance, he enjoyed taking his Harley for a ride.
Eddie was quite the conversationalist. He never met a stranger. He did not mince words; you knew exactly where he stood on any subject. Family was important to him BUT his grandchildren stole his heart. He absolutely adored them and spent as much time as he could with them.
Eddie is survived by his wife, Tammy, three children: Brittany L. Witherite of Bellefonte, Amber D. Witherite of Milesburg, and Nicholas W. Witherite and his wife, Brooke, of Bellefonte; and three grandchildren: Vinny, Lilly, and Charlie.
He is also survived by five brothers: David Dubbs of Lock Haven, Malcolm “Mick” Witherite, Jr, of Julian, Jay Witherite of Milesburg, Timothy Witherite and his wife, Kathy, of Sandy Ridge, and Jerry Witherite and his wife, Charlene, of Wallaceton.
All services will be private.
