Emma Jane Confer, 93, of Julian, was greeted by her family at Heaven’s Gate on Saturday, November 25, 2023. Born on October 16, 1930, in Union Twp, she was the daughter of the late Douglas L. and Annie E. (Williams) Brooks. She was married to Ray T. Confer, who preceded her in death.
Emma Jane attended a one room school house in Chestnut Grove. She was a member of the Eagle Heights Bible Church in Milesburg. She was strong in her faith and spoke to her Lord daily. She was a homemaker and assisted on the family farm.
Emma Jane was an animal lover and enjoyed riding horses, bowling, and hunting. She loved spending time with her family. She was a second mother to her nieces and nephews, especially Lori, Amy, and Sherri.
Emma Jane is survived by her brother, Roy L. Brooks and his wife, Sharon, of Bellefonte and numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents and husband, Emma Jane was preceded in death by her son, Terry D. Brooks; three brothers: Russell Brooks, David Brooks, and Harry Brooks, and three sisters: Edie Brooks, Eva Eminhizer, and Dorcas Klinefelter.
A public viewing with be held on Friday, December 1, 2023, from 11-12 noon at the Daughenbaugh Funeral Home, Inc, 201 Spring St. Milesburg. Funeral services will follow at 12 noon at the funeral home with Pastor Stephen Hicks officiating. Emma Jane will be laid to rest in Eagle Cemetery in Boggs Twp.
