Frederick C. “Fred” Teti, Jr, 71, of Centre Hall, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at home. Born on July 16, 1949 in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Frederick C, and Theresa F. (Gallagher) Teti, Sr. On March 17, 1995, in State College, he married Joan E. Walsh, who survives at home.

Fred was a 1967 graduate of Cardinal Dougherty School in Philadelphia. After school, he enlisted with the United States Air Force, where he was a mechanic and earned the rank of Sergeant. Prior to his honorable discharge in 1971, he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and the Air Force Manual 900-3. Following the military, he earned his bachelor’s degree in Geophysics at Penn State University in 1984. He was an Emergency Management Specialist for Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA) and retired in 2013 after 21 years of service.

Fred was of the catholic faith and a member of the Holy Name of Jesus Parish in Harrisburg. He spent his time coaching softball, fishing, and fixing things. Those that knew Fred would call him a man that loved to tinker. He could be found working on things around the garage, mechanical work, computers, telescopes and especially his cars. He was an avid reader of science fiction novels and was a fan of both Star Trek and Star Wars. He was a friend to anyone in need, always offering to lend a hand, willing to give the shirt off of his back, and never expect anything in return. He loved his time with family and adored his wife, but his daughter was always his number one love and priority.

Along with his wife, Fred is survived by their daughter, Caitlin R. Teti and her boyfriend, Ryan Pannebaker, of State College; three brothers, Michael Teti, John Teti, and James Teti; two sisters, Teri Teti and Catherine Teti, and his beloved feline companions, Shadow, Perry, and Chewie.

Along with his parents, Fred was preceded in death by one brother, Joseph Teti, and one infant sister, Margaret Teti.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 from 3-5pm at the Daughenbaugh Funeral Home in Centre Hall. A funeral service will follow at 5pm with Father George Jackopac officiating. Military honors will be provided by Joint Base Andrews Honor Guard immediately following the service.

Due to the current COVID situations, the family is requiring all those attending services to wear a face covering and keep a safe social distance without making physical contact with others.
