Gennaro J. DeLuca, 76, of Bellefonte, passed away on Friday, June 5, 2026. Born on July 21, 1949, in Brooklyn, New York, he was the son of the late Vincent and Vincenza (Puma) DeLuca.
Gennaro was a 1967 graduate of Lafayette High School in Brooklyn. After high school, Gennaro proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War from February 1968 until he was honorably discharged in December 1971. Upon returning home, he worked as the head instructing chef for the US Maritime Union until his retirement.
He is survived by his longtime companion, Wanda Villatore, his siblings Vincent DeLuca, his wife Carol, and Patricia DeLuca, nephews, Daniel, and Vincent, his wife Elizabeth, and their son George.
Gennaro was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Bellefonte.
A public viewing will be held on Friday, June 12, 2026, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, at Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc., 206 N. Spring Street, Bellefonte. An additional viewing will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 9:30 – 10:30 AM. Funeral Mass will directly follow at 11:00 AM, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 134 E. Bishop Street, Bellefonte, with Father Brian Saylor officiating. Burial services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
