George Zbyslaw Lasek, 74, of Boalsburg, died Friday, August 23, 2024, at Milton Hershey Medical Center.

Born November 9, 1949, in Coventry, England, he was the son of the late Michael and Maria Grycuk Lasek. He is survived by his wife, Lynn L. Moglia Lasek. Together they have lived in Boalsburg for the past ten years; they would have celebrated twelve years of marriage this November.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his in-laws, Emil and Arlene Moglia, sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Richard, brother, Casey Lasek, sister-in-law, Faye, several nephews and their families, and stepson, Ryan Wilson. George is also survived by many dear friends, near and far. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Leslie Lasek.

In 1951, the family of three immigrated to America to New York City. When he was 8, the family moved to Clifton, NJ, and at the age of 10, George was naturalized as a citizen of the United States of America.

George graduated from Clifton High and attended Rutgers University, earning a degree in business administration. He worked for several electrical supply companies during his career as a salesman, serving the 5 boroughs of NYC. He learned a bit of Yiddish back in his sales days.

He retired in 2007, and met his wife, Lynn, in October of 2008. They married in Vermont, on November 15, 2012, and prior to moving to Boalsburg in 2014, they resided in Milford, PA. George and Lynn were soulmates and best friends, and made each other laugh every day.

George was involved in his community, serving on the Architectural Review Board. He enjoyed his role on the ARC for many years.
