Joanne Joy Blazer, 73, of Bellefonte passed away at her home on Tuesday, December 20, 2022. Joanne was born on March 17, 1949 the daughter of the late Raymond and Bertha Rowin Hanscom. She married Philip Blazer who survives at home. She is also survived by her daughters, Joy (Eric) Keyser of Montoursville, Shelly(Rick) Winther of Hamilton, VA; her siblings, Roy (Opal) Hanscom of Julian, Louis (Sarah) Hanscom of Julian, Rosie Stamm of Julian, Sylvia (Dave) Renninger of rural Howard, Ethel Donley of Linden, Dorothy (Larry) Wert of Julian; her 4 grandchildren, Robert (Chelsea) Ensminger, Tawnya (Ethan) Perdew, Heather Winther, Steffen Winther and her 3 great grandchildren, Blase, Rowin and Miles; her brother-in-law, Jim (Penny) Blazer of Spring Mills, her nephews, Levi (Alina) Blazer of Toronto and Cody (Theresa) Blazer of Bellefonte. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her siblings, Carl Hanscom, Theodore Hanscom, Alfred Hanscom, Evelyn Hanscom, Wanita Dreibelbis, Jerome Hanscom and Gertrude Albert.
Joanne was of the Methodist faith and enjoyed cooking, gardening, cleaning, socializing and especially spending time with her family. She retired in 2004 from the OPP Department at Penn State University.
Family and friends will be received at the Dean K. Wetzler Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Inc., on Friday, December 23, 2022 from 10 AM to 12 noon. A funeral service will follow at 12 noon with Pastor David Spaugh officiating.
Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Union Twp., Centre Co.
