Julia F. Weidhaas, 99, of State College, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She would have celebrated her 100th birthday on May 23.

Born May 23, 1926, in New Rochelle, New York, she was the daughter of Charles and Rose Fallis and the youngest of five children. On July 1, 1950, she married Ernest R. Weidhaas, sharing more than 57 years of marriage until his passing in 2007. Ernie Weidhaas achieved Professor Emeritus and was Assistant Dean of Engineering at Penn State. Julia supported him as a hostess for business gatherings.

A lifelong member of the First Church of Christ, Scientist, Julia’s faith was the foundation of her life. She devoted countless hours volunteering through the church and was often found at the Christian Science Reading Room, where she warmly welcomed all who entered. Her steadfast faith in the goodness of God guided her life and allowed her to share kindness, compassion, and encouragement with everyone she met.

Julia was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose gentle spirit and caring heart touched generations of family and friends. She created a home filled with warmth, grace, and unwavering support, and her greatest joy was time spent with those she loved. She was an excellent pianist, chef, and loved playing cards, especially contract bridge.

She is survived by her four children, Richard R. Weidhaas (Deborah Weidhaas) of Pennsylvania Furnace, Paul K. Weidhaas (Madonna Stallmann) of Newfield, New York, Patricia W. Stackhouse (Art Stackhouse) of Salem, Virginia, and Mark D. Weidhaas (Anne Weidhaas) of Colorado Springs, Colorado; five grandchildren Veronica Yoder of State College, Matthew Weidhaas of Colorado Springs, Rebecca Brazell of Lakewood, Colorado, Christie Weidhaas of State College, and Ashlyn Stackhouse of Salem, Virginia; and three great-grandchildren.

There will be no viewing or funeral.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Church of Christ, Scientist, 617 E. Hamilton Ave., State College, PA 16801.

Arrangements are by Koch Funeral Home, State College.
