Kathleen Fay Sherman, 77, left her residence here on earth to go Home to be with the Lord at 1:55 PM on May 13, 2026. Born August 31, 1948 in Bellefonte, PA, Kathy is the daughter of the late Miles Porter and Eva Ethel (Watson) Stauffer. On May 31, 1969, she married her surviving husband, Dennis Allen Sherman of Blanchard, PA.

In addition to her husband, Kathy is survived by her two sons Allen Sherman (Michelle) and Roger Sherman; daughter Renae Sherman; grandchildren Dawsan Sherman, Alyssa Laughner, Gage Laughner, Amber Hahn; great-grandson Sebastian Walker; siblings Janice Hawthorne, Twila Newman, Randy Stauffer (Carol), Robert Stauffer (Pat), Joseph Stauffer, Timothy Stauffer (Bonnie) and Earl Stauffer; sister-in-law Jane Stauffer, sister-in-law Judy Sherman and many, many generations of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Myrna Stahl, brothers Doyle, Rodney and Thomas Stauffer; brother-in-law, Donald Hawthorne, brother-in-law George Newman, brother-in-law Darman Sherman, brother-in-law Larry Sherman, sister-in-law Wanda Stauffer, and granddaughter Sierra Sherman.

Kathy was a 1966 graduate of Bald Eagle Area High School and a 1991 graduate of South Hills School of Business & Technology. After high school, she worked in office support roles at Erie Murata, The Lock Haven Hospital and The Pennsylvania State University. After retirement from the University, she was the owner of Pap’s Cottage Bed & Breakfast (this was her dream job).

After getting married, she and her husband, Dennis, moved to Marsh Creek in Howard, PA where they shared 57 wonderful years together! Kathy had an affinity for animals. She loved her cats, ducks, chipmunks and birds. She loved planting flowers in her garden beds, working in the yard and cleaning, cleaning, cleaning.

Most notably, Kathy was an award-winning dessert maker! She cherished time in the kitchen cooking, canning, baking, but even more so to be able to share her specialties with family and friends. Family get-togethers were her favorite thing.

Kathy lived for the Lord and her family. Her greatest desire was to see them all saved and going to Heaven! Nothing meant more to her. Her kind and caring soul touched the lives of many. She would always say “The Lord loves a cheerful giver,” and her life was the embodiment of that scripture. Her selfless character inspired others to give and love just as God loves us.

Well done, thou good and faithful servant – Matthew 25:21
