Lois E. (Hoy) Miller, 92, of Bellefonte, passed away on Monday, April 8, 2024, at Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College. Born on January 5, 1932, in Milesburg, she was the daughter of the late Clarence E. and Lola Jane (Quick) Hoy. On October 28, 1950, in Yarnell, she married Robert L. Miller. They shared 64 years of marriage before his passing on Mach 10, 2015,
Lois was a 1949 graduate of Bellefonte High School. She worked at Penn State University in food service and housekeeping, retiring in May 1992 after 23 years of service. After retiring from Penn State, volunteered at Centre Crest, Bellefonte Lunch program and various other organizations.
Lois was a member of the Yarnell United Methodist Church. She enjoyed watching birds, especially hummingbirds, reading, all flowers, puzzles, word search puzzles, and playing dirty bingo. She loved taking pictures at the Lunch Bunch gatherings at her church.
Lois is survived by her children: Kenneth L. Miller and his wife, Joan, of State College, Cindy L Kunes and her husband, Kim, of Howard, Beth E. Miller of Riverside, CA, and Wendy S. Miler of Enola. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Daniel Miller, Douglas Miller, Heidi Smith, and Bradley Smith; three great grandchildren: Kathryn Smith, Nathaniel Smith, and Daxten Miller and a half-brother, Thomas L. Hoy of Harrisburg.
Along with her parents and husband, Lois was preceded in death by a daughter, Judy A. Smith; siblings: William Hoy, Clarence Hoy, Jr, Ray Hoy, Kay Lucas, and half-brother, Dean Hoy.
The Celebration of Life service will be on Friday, April 12, 2024, at 11:30am at the Yarnell United Methodist Church, 808 Yarnell Road, Bellefonte with Pastor Janette Desmond officiating. The burial will be private at Advent Cemetery, Boggs Twp.
