Martha H. Lindsay, 76, of State College, died Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at Harmony at State College.

Born in Bellefonte, she was the daughter of the late Robert W. and Virginia T. Lindsay. Martha grew up in State College and graduated from State College Area High School in 1967.

She is survived by a brother, Robert E. Lindsay, and his wife Janice of State College; two sisters, Ann M. Lindsay of Reedsville and Susan J. Leisner and her husband John of California; two nieces, Rebecca Lord and her husband Mike and Jane Frances and her husband Andrew, two nephews, Robert C. Lindsay and Andrew Leisner and his wife Deidre, and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Martha began her professional career as a reservation clerk for Frontier Airlines in New York City. She later returned to State College and was employed at Penn State University, where she worked as an Information Specialist in Pattee Library. She retired after more than 25 years of dedicated service.

She had a deep love for music that led to many memorable experiences, including attending the original Woodstock Festival and working as a “roadie” for various acts at the University and Boal Barn. She also maintained an impressive record collection of her favorite artists. In addition, Martha had a fondness for jewelry. Much of her time was spent providing loving care for her parents in their declining years.

Her family extends their heartfelt thanks to all the wonderful people of Harmony at State College — the kitchen and wait staff, the nurses and medical assistants, the maintenance staff, the housekeeping personnel, the administrative staff, and all others – who took such wonderful and compassionate care of “Marti.” They saw through what could sometimes be a gruff exterior to the warm and loving heart inside.

Burial will be private
