Mary L. Zeigler, 82, formerly of Milesburg, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at Mount Nittany Medical Center. Born on January 3, 1944, in Bellefonte, she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Audean (Johnson) Page. On December 8, 1966, in Milesburg, she married Richard I. “Dick” Zeigler, who preceded her in death on November 23, 2021.
Mary was a 1962 graduate of Bellefonte Area High School. Throughout her working years, she held various positions before finding her longtime career in accounting at University Park Airport, retiring from Penn State after many dedicated years of service.
A woman of deep faith, Mary was an active member of Milesburg Baptist Church. She faithfully attended worship services and Bible studies and found comfort and joy in regularly reading her Bible.
Mary loved staying busy and was always ready for an adventure, especially enjoying rides on the side-by-side with family and friends.
Mary was also known as an excellent cook who enjoyed preparing meals for those she loved. She and Dick cherished their many years at the Centre County Grange Fair, where they maintained a tent space and looked forward each year to reconnecting with friends and making memories. Above all else, Mary treasured time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Karen R. Basalla and her husband, Bill, of Clarence; three grandchildren, Matthew Hepfer, Bryan Hepfer, and Greyson Zeigler; and five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, John Page of Pleasant Gap; and seven sisters: Nancy Barndt and her husband, Nelson, of Howard; Dorothy Page of Pleasant Gap; Janet Page of Bellefonte; Patty Bathgate of Bellefonte; Judy Mann of Howard; Penny Zimmerman of Howard; and Donna Bathurst and her husband, John, of Bellefonte; along with step family members and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mary was preceded in death by a daughter, Carol and one brother, Edward Page.
Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at Daughenbaugh Funeral Home in Milesburg, where a funeral service will immediately follow at 11:30 a.m. with John Bathurst officiating. Burial will be private at Zion Cemetery.
