Maureen Anne Wright passed away peacefully on April 11, 2026, at the age of 73. Born in Queens, New York on January 13, 1953, Maureen was the eldest of six siblings. She loved to care for her four brothers and one sister from a young age, planting the seed of her warm, maternal spirit. She grew up attending the Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Glendale, learning her exceptional cooking skills from the nuns who attended to the parish priests. After graduating from Richmond Hill High School in 1971, Maureen studied for two years at the City College of New York. She began her career at Bristol Myers Squibb as an administrative assistant in 1975, where she first met her future husband, Eugene. The two shared a love of dancing, dogs, and quality time with their impressively large circle of friends. They married in 1988 and soon welcomed two children, Monica and Christopher, at which point Maureen became a full-time homemaker and stay-at-home mom. Once Eugene and Maureen became empty nesters, Maureen found others to take care of, working as a home aid for the elderly and then a kitchen assistant at the local high school. Maureen enjoyed cooking, gardening, watching tennis and ice skating, and attending live theatre, but most of all, she enjoyed being with her family.

Maureen is predeceased by her father, John Teresky, her mother, Catherine Teresky, and her brother, Robert Teresky. She is survived by her husband, Eugene Wright, her daughter, Monica Williams, her son, Christopher Wright, and her siblings: Thomas Teresky, Jeanne Teresky, Michael Teresky, and James Teresky. The family wishes to thank the staff at Juniper Village at Brookline Wellspring Memory Care for their dedication to Maureen in her final days. They welcomed Maureen with open arms and cared for her with endless love and kindness.

A public viewing will be held on Friday, April 17, 2026, from 9:00 – 10:00 AM, at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 820 Westerly Parkway, State College. Mass will begin at 10:00 AM, at the church, with Father George Jakopac officiating. Details regarding a luncheon following the mass will be provided once confirmed. Burial services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc. in Bellefonte.
