Born on January 9, 1937, in Bellefonte, she was the daughter of the late Edgar E. and Lydia Margaret “Peg” (West) Widdowson. On August 30, 1957, in Pittsburgh, she married Earl J. Kay graduated from Peabody High School in Pittsburgh in 1954. She attended Michigan State University and took courses at Pennsylvania State University. She was a private dance and exercise instructor for many years. In 1976, she started working for Penn State University, in their Continuing Education Department, retiring after more than 15 years of service.

Kay was a long-time member of the Park Forest United Methodist Church, before she and her husband joined the congregation at the Mount Nittany United Methodist Church in Lemont. She enjoyed playing bridge, reading mystery novels, playing the piano, and dancing. She was a big Pittsburgh Steelers fan and an even bigger Penn State Nittany Lions football fan. For many years, she and her husband were season tickets holders. Her family was very important to her. When her children were younger, she was a den leader for the Cub Scouts. She loved time spent with her grandchildren and her great granddaughter brought her much joy.

Kay is survived by her daughter, Debra Ann Poulin of Lemont; two sons, David Allen Partenheimer of Washington, D.C. and Larry Steven Partenheimer and his wife, Irene, of Harrisburg; five grandchildren, Tony and his wife, Crystal, Michael, and Marcus Poulin, Matthew and Michelle Partenheimer; one great granddaughter, Scarlett Poulin; one brother, Kenneth Widdowson and his wife, Jeanne, of Oklahoma; and her sister in-law, Linda Dollgener of Texas.

Friends and family will be received on Wednesday, July 21, 2021, from 6-8pm and Thursday, July 22, 2021, from 10-11am at the Mount Nittany United Methodist Church in Lemont. A funeral service will immediately follow at 11am on Thursday, at the church, with Pastor Christopher Passante officiating.
