Alice Jane Bradley Breon of Bellefonte passed away Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at The Oaks in Pleasant Gap.
She was the loving daughter of the late Joseph L. and Florence Aston Bradley.
She was born in Phillippi, West Virginia, on September 15, 1924. Alice was the
devoted wife of Rufus M. Breon for 66 years, whom she married June 9, 1942. Rufus preceded her in death on April 3, 2008.
She was a devoted mother to Patricia Breon Kane and James Kane of Hershey,
and Robert M. and Nancy Gail Breon of Bethlehem. She was a loving grandmother to Bradley N. Kane of Harrisburg, Robert Kane of Hershey, Stephanie Allyson Breon of Bethlehem, and adored her great granddaughter, Ashland Kane. Alice was a caring friend to many.
She worked in Bellefonte businesses for over 60 years; at the Brokerhoff
Hotel and Cerro Metals, during the World War II years. She worked for the late
Jack Wilkinson for 30 years, as store manager of Jack Wilkinson and Treasure House.
She was a manager of the Mount Nittany Savings and Loan, Bellefonte office, until
the merger with United Federal. She then worked for United Federal until their
merger with PNC Bank from where she retired.
She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church for over 60 years, the
V.F.W. Auxiliary, Bellefonte Women’s Club and Crystal Springs Rebbeca Lodge.
Along with her husband and parents, Alice was preceded in death by a son, William Bradley Breon, who died in the service of our country on June 25, 1965; a sister, Dorothy Bradley Wenrick and two brothers, Walter J. Bradley and Dick Bradley.
All services and burial were private and previously held at the convenience of the family.
