Benita Bonnie Poorman, 82, formerly of Bellefonte, died Sunday, December 23, 2012 at the Susque-View Home in Lock Haven. Born October 22, 1930, in Union Township, Centre County, she was a daughter of the late Andrew J. and Esther Metzler Irvin. She was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Poorman. Benita had worked at the Red Horse Tavern in Pleasant Gap for 14 years. She had been a member of the Brookside Wesleyan Church. She is survived by three sons, Andrew (Sally) Baker of Newport, Kevin (Kimber) Poorman, of Rebersburg and Harold (Kimberly) Poorman of Pleasant Gap; three daughters, Gyla (Sherman) Lonberger of Spring Mills, Gaylene (Lonnie) Hile of McClure, and Shawnee Confer of State College; two brothers, Artemas Irvin of Milesburg and Ernest Irvin, of New Berlin; one sister, Florein Probst of Hampton, GA. Also surviving are nineteen grandchildren, six step-grandchildren; and 20 great grandchildren. Along with her husband and parents she was preceded in death by one son, Lewis Baker; one great grandchild; and one brother, Frank Irvin. Services will be held Friday, December 28, 2012, at 11:00 A.M. at the Dean K. Wetzler Funeral Home, Milesburg, Pa. with Pastor Troy Kerstetter officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services. Internment will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Union Twp., Centre Co. Arrangements are under the direction of the Dean K. Wetzler Funeral Home, Milesburg, Pa.
