Obituary of Caroline Horner , 88

Caroline C. Horner, 88, of rural Bellefonte, passed away Wednesday, December 2, 2015, at her residence. Caroline was born on December 28, 1926, in Bellefonte. Caroline was the daughter of the late Irvin and Anna Holderman Stem. She was employed by Penn State University in the Housekeeping Department.

Caroline enjoyed spending time with her family, porch sitting and waving with her radiant smile, always thinking of others first. She enjoyed cooking, baking, playing dominos, playing cards and making trips to the casino. She was of the Protestant Faith.

She is survived by two daughters, Carol (Shelley) Horner, of Selinsgrove and Tina (Jeff) Lucas, of Bellefonte; four sons, Walter (Sonny) (Patricia) Horner, of Runville, Ronald (Joanne) Horner, of Centre Hall, Daniel (Sylvia) Horner, of Bellefonte and David (Christine) Horner, of Tyrone; two half-sisters, Eleanor Houser and Beverly Miles, both of Altoona; four brothers, Charles Stem, of Howard, Clair Stem, of Bellefonte, Richard Stem, of Maryland and Robert Stem, of Indiana, Penna.; 11 grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Ann Hill; one brother, James Stem; and one half-brother, Samuel Markle.

Services will be held at Fillmore United Methodist Church, 2262 Buffalo Run Road, Bellefonte on Saturday, December 12, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Calvin J. Miller officiating. There will be no public visitation. Burial will be in Meyer Cemetery, Benner Township, Centre County.
