Carolyn ‘Lyn’ Grove, 55, of Centre Hall, passed from this life on September 24, 2013. A daughter of Catherine MacDonald Fielding, who survives in Warminster, PA, and the late John Fielding, she was born on December 10, 1957, in Hatfield, PA.
On May 16, 2002, she was united in marriage to Robert I. Grove in his airplane while flying over their home. Robert and Lyn spent over nineteen years together enjoying each other’s company. Robert survives at home.
Lyn was a graduate of Archwood Bishop High School, and completed continuing education courses at Penn State University. She worked many years at the State College Area School District as a secretary at Matternville Elementary School and worked at the central office where she was instrumental in computerizing the school bus route. Lyn later went to work as an associate for PSEA where she retired in January 2013.
Lyn lived her life with a positive outlook and an unsurpassable smile. She loved and appreciated time spent with her family, making new friends and having fun with old friends. She enjoyed work functions, attending car shows and fly-ins with her husband, and her most anticipated event of the year…the Grange Fair. Lyn touched many lives with her kindness and understanding.
For over three and a half years Lyn fought a tenacious battle with cancer and did so with the love and support of her husband Bob, family and friends.
Along with her husband, Lyn is survived by three sons; Brian Logie and his wife Melissa of PA, Jason Logie of Washington D.C., Eric Logie and his wife Nicole of San Diego, CA; one step son, Randy L. Grove of Bellefonte, two step daughters, Kimberly Chambers and her husband Scott McKee of Bellefonte, Bobbi Jo Chambers and her husband Roy of Snow Shoe, along with two sisters; Cathy Wheatley and her husband Mac of Ocean City, MD, Tina McLaughlin and her husband Pat of Hatboro, PA, and one brother, William Fielding of Bensalem, PA. Also surviving are ten grandchildren: McKenna, Keegan, Lily, Bennett and Emerson Logie, Anna Marie Grove, Kelly, Carly and Nate Chambers, and Cameron McKee.
Friends will be received on Thursday, September 26, 2013 from 6 – 8 PM, at Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc. 206 N. Spring St. Bellefonte, PA 16823 and again on Friday, September 27, 2013 from 12 – 2 PM at the funeral home. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM at the funeral home with Pastor Scott Klimke officiating. Burial will follow in Meyer Cemetery, Benner Township.
