Charles John Krebs of State College died Friday, Sept. 21, at Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College.

Known as John for much of his life, he was a retired school bus driver for State College School District. He lived in Bellefonte, Spring Mills and State College for much of his life, and for the past five years he lived at Hearthside Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in State College.

John enjoyed deer hunting, photography, World War II airplanes and the Centre County Grange Fair and Encampment in Centre Hall.

He was born in Bellefonte on February 21, 1942 and grew up in Centre Hall. He graduated from Penns Valley High School in 1961 and joined the U.S. Army, where he was stationed in Germany.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Gerald L. Krebs, and his parents, Leroy and Sarah Krebs. He is survived by his sister-in-law, Donna Krebs of Centre Hall; three nieces, Jeanette Krebs of Harrisburg, Dr. Jessica Krebs of Lancaster and Janda Hankinson (Raymond) of Centre Hall; and six great-nieces and nephews, Sophia and Anya Fox of Harrisburg, Nicholas and Olivia Jimenez of Lancaster and Andrew and Lydia Hankinson of Centre Hall.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 from 6-8pm at the Daughenbaugh Funeral Home in Centre Hall. Burial will be private at Centre County Memorial Park in State College.
