Obituary of Charles McCloskey, 80

Charles Lloyd McCloskey, 80 of Howard, passed away Thursday, July 26, 2012 at his home. He was born in Howard on February 29, 1932.

He is survived by his former wife Elaine McCloskey of Howard.

He was a 1951 graduate of Howard High School. He was a master mechanic with Hanover Foods of Centre Hall for 42 years. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1951-1953.

Charles was a member of the Howard Area Lions Club, serving at the food bank for many years. He was a member of the Central Pa. Volunteer Fire Co., Toys for Tots, and a lifetime member of the North American Hunting Club.

He enjoyed hunting, word finds, camping and especially at grange fair but above all he enjoyed time spent with his family.

Charlie is survived by his two daughters; Linda McCloskey and Karen (Tim) Rickert and his three sons; Wayne and wife Sharon, Scott and wife Tammy and Charlie Davis and his wife Lana, two sisters; Lulu Singer and Elsie Packer, two brothers; Horace "Jim" and Franklin "Cuff" McCloskey all of Howard. Also survived by nine grandchildren; Heather, Jason, Jessica, Daniel, Kyle, Cody, Lindsay, Dakota and Olivia, three great-grandchildren; Trinity, Alexis, and Autumn. He is also survived by a friend Janet Davis and his faithful dog "Phoebe". He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers; Grover C. Jr., and Glenn T.

His funeral service will be Monday, July 30, 2012 at 10:30 at the Kader-Neff Funeral Home, 135 W. Main Street, Howard, with the Rev. Bo King officiating. There will be a public visitation Sunday, July 29, 2012 from 6 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. There will be a Lions Club Necrology Service on Sunday at 7:45 p.m. Burial will be at the Highland Cemetery in Howard at the convenience of the family.
