Charlotte M. Fetzer, 88, formerly of Boalsburg, died Saturday, August 22, 2009, at Centre Crest.

Born April 2, 1921, in Bellefonte, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Charlotte (Grimm) Knisely.

On November 28, 1940, she married Albert L. Fetzer, who preceded her in death on September 20, 2005.

Charlotte was a preparation cook for Elby's restaurant in State College, retiring in 1987. She also worked as a waitress for the V.F.W. in State College, and assisted her husband in the operation of the Gas Light Restaurant in State College.

She was a graduate of Bellefonte High School class of 1940.

Mrs. Fetzer was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, in Boalsburg. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the V.F.W. Post #322 and the Ladies Auxiliary of the American legion Post #245 both in State College.

She especially enjoyed camping.

Surviving are five sons: Albert E. Fetzer and his wife Fay of Bellefonte, Larry D. Fetzer and his wife Judy of State College, William E. Fetzer of Denton, TX, Dennis K. Fetzer and his wife Chong of Orlando, FL, and Ivan D. Fetzer and his wife Melissa of Martinsburg; three daughters: Deborah M. Moore and her husband Jim of Tyrone, Charlene Harpster and her husband Jeff of Pennsylvania Furnace and Carmen M. Potter of Spring Mills: two brothers: Charles Knisely and his wife Patty of Boxford, MA and Thomas Knisely and his wife Jonell of Bellefonte; one sister Helen Rodavich of Astubula, OH; fifteen grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and four step-grandchildren

In addition to her parents and husband, Charlotte was preceded in death by one brother, Albert Knisley and three sisters, Lois Dreibelbis, Dorothy Ann Wagner and Mary Louise Sunday.

Visitation will be from 7-9 PM, Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Services, 1034 Benner Pike State, College. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Centre Crest Auxiliary, 502 E. Howard Street, Bellefonte, PA 16823.
