Dallas K. Lykens, 85, of Bellefonte, passed away Thursday, August 14, 2014, at Centre Crest. A son of the late George and Margaret (Pringle) Lykens, he was born on October 20, 1928, in Port Matilda. He was married to the former Elizabeth Davis, who preceded him in death in 1999.
Dallas attended both the Port Matilda and Altoona School System. He had worked as a truck driver for the Youngtown Cartage Company, in Ohio.

Dallas served in the U.S. Marines Corps during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Port Matilda Methodist Church. He was a 65 year member of the State College Masonic Lodge, member of the Order of Eastern Star, State College Chapter #388, the Williamsport Consistory, Jaffa Mosque, Sons of the American Revolution, the Port Matilda Odd Fellows, the past commandant of the Nittany Leathernecks Marine Corps League in State College, and a Marine Devil Dog. He presented the Marine Corps Ka-Barr to those achieving the rank of Eagle Scout for over 25 years. He served many years gathering Toys for Tots for the Marine Corps League.

Dallas was Mayor of Port Matilda for two terms
He is survived by two daughters; Betsy Lykens (Greg Sampsell) of Julian, Ann Campbell (Michael) of Florida, one son, Keith Lykens (Jamie) of Paso Robles, CA, along with three brothers; Johnson Lykens of Florida, Gregory Lykens of Bellefonte, and Mike Lykens of Colorado. Dallas is also survived by 7 grandchildren; Lindsey and Marley Sampsell, Anthony Palmieri, Casey and Colin Dunn, Ceraye Campbell and Colure Caulfield, two great-grandchildren; Shane Beggs and Kylie Phouthamang.

In addition to his wife and parents, Dallas was preceded in death by two sisters; Sondra Weisbach and Wanda Johnson, along with one brother, Blair Lykens.
A public graveside service will be held Monday, August 18, 2014, at 11:00 AM, at the Port Matilda Cemetery, Port Matilda. Family and friends will be received at Betsy’s home at 335 Julian Pike, Julian, PA 16844, after the services.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be sent to the Marine Corp League Toys for Tots, in care of Nittany Leathernecks, PO Box 956, Lemont, Pa 16851.
