MSGT. Dennis R. Bartley, USAF (Retired) 63 of Julian, passed away Friday, April 13, 2012 at Mount Nittany Medical Center. He was born on March 10, 1949 a son of Helen Bartley Hall of Julian and the late Philip M. Bartley.
He was a graduate of Bald Eagle High School class of 1967.
He retired from USAF after 22 years of service. During his career he received the Air Force Commendation Medal, AF Achievement Medal, Outstanding Unit Award with three OLC, Good Conduct Medal with three OLC.
He was affiliated with the Fleming Free Methodist Church. He was a member of the Bellefonte VFW and the Milesburg Legion. He enjoyed taking his daily drive and enjoying the countryside where he fed the bunnies. In his earlier years he enjoyed hunting.
He is survived by one daughter; Patricia Helen Bartley Norman, her husband Dirk, of Madison, Wis., two sisters; Gail Miller and Cindy Bartley and special friend Jim Schreffler all of Julian, four brothers; Larry his wife Christy, of Port Matilda, Barry his wife Karen of New Milport, Duane of Julian and Doug and wife Sherie of Julian. He is also survived by a step-father; Robert Hall and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be Sunday, April 15, 2012 at the Fleming Free Methodist Church at 3:00 p.m. with the Rev. Edwin Irwin officiating. Friends will be received from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at the Zion Cemetery where military rites will be accord.
