Eunice Fae Noffsker, 90, of Altoona, died Friday, Oct. 9, 2009, at ARHS-Altoona Hospital Campus. Born Oct. 27, 1918, in Saxton, she was a daughter of the late George Carbaugh and Matilda (Metzger) Carbaugh. On March 3, 1941, she married Thomas A. Noffsker, who died Aug. 6, 1982.
She was a graduate of Saxton Liberty High School. She was the proprietor of the former Charlie and Catherine's Restaurant.
She is survived by two sons, Thomas C. Noffsker, of Bellefonte, and Richard G. Noffsker (Gretta), of New Enterprise; two grandchildren, Aaron Noffsker and Lindsay Cherry; four great-grandchildren, Monica Noffsker, Jacob, Madison and Elijah Cherry; sister, Donna Isett, of Saxton; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Edna Hackett and Helen Hileman; and four brothers, Emerson, Homer, George, and Ralph Carbaugh; and special friend, Glenn Stern.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2009, at Stevens Memorial Chapel with Pastor Betty Landis officiating. Interment will be at Alto Reste Park.
