Evelyn “May” (Lucas) Drayer, 87, of Bellefonte, passed away December 15, 2013 at the home of her daughter in Howard.

Born May 12, 1926, in Blanchard, Centre County, she was a daughter of the late Richard and Alice (Dorvit) Lucas.

On February 18, 1972, she married Bernard J. Drayer, who survives at home. She was previously married to Fred O. Vonada who preceded her in death in 2002.

May attended the Hublersburg School in Walker Township and is of the protestant faith.

She worked for Sylvania, HRB Singer and Sears, where she retired as office manager after 20 years of service. She enjoyed traveling and visited 49 of 50 states, Canada, Europe, Mexico and Africa. She also enjoyed sewing, decorating and flowers. She enjoyed Penn State football and held season passes for over 35 years.

In addition to her husband she is survived by three children, Wayne (Carol) Vonada of Pleasant Gap, Jerry (Lee Dorey) Vonada of Bellefonte and Janet (Robert) Novosel of Howard; two step children Gary (Sandra) Drayer of Hershey and Sherri Riftersnyder of Harrisburg; three sisters, Eva Stitzer of Bellefonte, Faye Phillips of Texas and Leah Walizer of Elizabethtown; one brother, William Lucas of Howard; six grandchildren, Doug, Greg and Karen Vonada of Bellefonte, Laurie Capparelli, and Jeff and Kevin Novosel all of Howard; one great grandson, Nathan Capparelli; seven step-grandchildren, Sara, Aaron, Bridgette, Rosanna and Crystal Drayer, Katrina and Remington Riftersnyder; three sister-in-laws, Viola, Ruth and Loretta Lucas and one brother-in-law, Victor Lutz, and numerous nieces and nephews.

May was preceded in death by her parents, and her siblings, Pearl Tyson, Donald, Boyd and Arthur Lucas and Iva Lutz.
