Obituary of Evelyn Jane Johnson , 83

Evelyn Jane Johnson, 83, of Bellefonte, formerly of State College, died Saturday, October 31, 2009, at Centre Crest Nursing Home in Bellefonte.

She was born March 31, 1926, in Milesburg, a daughter of the late Henry F. and Valetta A. Scandrol McKinley.

On December 24, 1945, she married Linn F. Johnson who preceded her in death on Sept. 21, 1969.

Evelyn attended Central City School in Milesburg.

Mrs. Johnson was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Boalsburg and earlier in life was a part of the V. F. W. Post 1600 band in Bellefonte.

She worked at the Corner Room in State College for more than thirteen years, then worked at the Nittany Lion Inn for ten years, retiring in 1980.

She is survived by a daughter Maxie Lee Trigger and husband Ray of Boalsburg; a son Thomas Linn Johnson, nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; two brothers, Clyde E. and Gray A. McKinley both of Milesburg and an aunt Vera Warner who had resided with Evelyn for many years.

At her request services will be private at the convenience of the family. The Reverend Monica J. Ouellette will officiate. Entombment will be at Centre County Memorial Park, 1034 Benner Pike, State College, PA.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to St. John's United Church of Christ, 218 N. Church St. Boalsburg, PA 16827.
