Obituary of Evelyn R. Myers, 90

Evelyn R. Myers, 90, of Millheim, passed away on Thursday, July 31, 2014 at the Hearthside Nursing Center in State College. Born on February 29, 1924 in Aaronsburg, Evelyn was a daughter of the late Harry C and Velma V. (Seyler) Eisenhauer. Evelyn was a 1942 graduate of East Penns Valley High School. On November 23, 1942, she was united in marriage to Paul D. Myers who preceded her in death on August 13, 1969.

Evelyn was a member of the former St. Luke’s United Methodist Church in Millheim. She loved to go shopping and was a collector of antiques. She also enjoyed traveling, joining in on bus trips with the Young at Heart Senior Club. In her younger years Evelyn did a lot of knitting and crocheting, making her own sweaters and mittens for the children.

Evelyn is survived by one daughter, Maureen A. Roberts (Dennis) of Clarence; two sons, Timothy P. Myers of Millheim, and Martin C. Myers (Biff) of Coburn; 10 grandchildren, Valerie, Scott, Denise, DJ, Shawn, Brittany, Colleen, Paul, Kristopher and Carrie. Also surviving are numerous great and great great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Evelyn was preceded in death by one son, Dennis A. Myers and two grandchildren, Nicole Roberts and Bradley Myers.

The family wishes to extend their appreciation and heartfelt thanks to the staff at Hearthside and Mt Nittany Medical Center, who cared for our mother during her illness.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, August 4, 2014 from 1-3 pm at the Steven R. Neff Funeral Home in Millheim, followed by the funeral service at 3:00 with Pastor Dan Shreckengast officiating. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery in Millheim.
