Faye M. Hoffman, 90, formerly of Keewaydin, and most recently of Clearfield, passed away Oct. 22, 2009, at Knickerbocker Villa. Born April 5, 1919 in Pottersdale, she was the daughter of George and Mary (Michaels) Lucas. Mrs. Hoffman was a member of Karthaus Community Alliance Church where she was involved in the Alliance Women. She was a homemaker who enjoyed baking and sewing.
Mrs. Hoffman is survived by seven children, Margaret F. Conaway of Keewaydin, Jean L. Coberly and her husband, Charles E., of Port St. Lucie, Fla., Mary Lee Moore, John R. Hoffman and his wife, Susan, all of Keewaydin, Joanne R. Rothrock and her husband, R. Gary, of Morrisdale, A. Jay Hoffman and his wife, Peggy, of Keewaydin and Joyce E. Hoffman and her husband, Norman Horn, of State College; 14 grandchildren, Randall Conaway, Lois Guerra, Rodney Conaway, Robert Conaway, Michael Coberly, Bruce Coberly, Deanna Fuller, Valerie Kovalick, Brian Hoffman, Kevin Hoffman, Daniel Johnson, Timothy Johnson, Casey Hoffman and Cody Hoffman; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was the last member of her generation. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John H. Hoffman, whom she married Oct. 9, 1936 in Driftwood and who died May 30, 1991; four brothers, Calvin Lucas, Glenn Lucas, William Lucas and Clair Lucas; four sisters, Theona Wooster, Virginia Reiter, Ivy Hertlein and Gladys Hugar.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, Oct. 26, 2009, at 11 a.m. at Karthaus Community Alliance Church with Pastor Dan Beeman and Dr. Duane White officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Karthaus. Friends will be received at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home Inc., Clearfield on Sunday from 6-9 p.m. and on Monday from 10 a.m. until the hour of services at the church.
