Obituary of Frances Helen Heverly , 96

Mrs. Frances Helen Heverly, 96, passed away Friday, Oct. 30, 2009, in Atlanta, Ga.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009, at 11 a.m. in Bellefonte, at Union Cemetery with Rev. David Vogan officiating.

Mrs. Heverly was born in Bellefonte, on Sept. 15, 1913 to the late George H. and Emma S. Hazel. She graduated from Bellefonte High School in 1930. She married the late Earl O. Heverly in 1936. They moved to Buffalo, N.Y. in 1948. In 1964 they returned to Bellefonte where they ran Heverly's News Agency on Allegheny Street for many years. At the age of 80, she made the move to Atlanta, Ga. to be with family and start a new life as an active senior in a retirement community. She kept busy for the next 16 years volunteering in the post office, on the front desk, giving guided tours and running the library at the facility. She also enjoyed playing bridge and many lunch outings with her new friends.

She is survived by her son, James G. Heverly; granddaughter, Claire H. Foege and husband Robert; and great-granddaughter, Ella Rosalie Foege.
