Grace E. Whitehill, 96 of Centre Hall died Saturday, Jan. 2, 2010, at home. She was born August 27, 1913, in Houserville, a daughter of the late John and Edith Stover. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter R. Whitehill, on April 13, 1977.
She is survived by a daughter, Wanda R. Mains and husband Dennis, of Loganton; and seven sons, Jack D. and wife Dorothy, of Spring Mills; James S., of Aaronsburg; Ben L., of Howard; Stanley K. and wife Connie, of Centre Hall; Raymond D., of Middleburg; Daniel K. and wife Bonita, of Spring Mills and Dennis E. and wife Barb, of Centre Hall. She is also survived by a sister Sarah Stover, of Centre Hall; 31 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and her husband she was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda; four sons, Lou, Larry O., Bob and Stephen; and seven brothers and sisters.
Grace was a loving mother and grandmother. She was a 1931 graduate of State College High School, a member of Linden Hall United Methodist Church and a charter member of the Linden Hall Flower Club.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2010, at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton St., State College. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2010, at the funeral home, with Pastor Daniel Schreckengast officiating. Burial will be in Centre County Memorial Park.
