Obituary of Henry Kurtz Weiser, 99

Henry Kurtz Weiser, 99, of Rockville, MD, husband of the late Evelyn Weiser, died on Sunday, March 19, 2017, at Shady Grove Medical Center, Rockville, MD.

Kurtz was born in Altoona, PA on July 4, 1917, son of the late David and Helen Weiser. He was the last surviving sibling of ten children and is survived by his only son Gregory K. Weiser, daughter-in-law Bonita Weiser, granddaughters Suzanne Weiser and Stacie Reeser, son-in-law Joseph Reeser and three beautiful great granddaughters, Claire, Olivia and Chloe Reeser.

Kurtz was a WWII veteran who served in the Army Air Corp and flew over 24 types of aircraft. He also flew the China-Burma Hump as a “Hump Pilot.” His greatest enjoyment during the last few years of his life (other than his family) were his regular visits with his McDonald's friends at the Rockville Viers Mill McDonald's. Over the years the group grew from three or four to over a dozen friends who would gather daily for coffee and to enjoy each other’s friendships.

Burial will take place at the Lutheran Reformed Church Cemetery in Rebersburg, PA. A memorial service will be held honoring Kurtz at the Living Faith Lutheran Church in Rockville, where he was a charter member, at a future date to be announced.
