James A. Bradford, 73, of Millheim, passed from this life on Saturday, August 16, 2014 at Mount Nittany Medical Center. Born on May 19, 1941 in Bellefonte, Jim was a son of the late James A. Bradford and Florence A. (Miller) Bradford. He was a 1959 graduate of Penns Valley Area High School. After high school Jim served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1963 ~1969.
On December 30, 1993, he was united in marriage to Cecelia L. Corbin who survives at their home.
Upon his return home, Jim was employed at Gilbert Associates in Reading and retired from there as a manager and consultant. He was a member of the American Legion Keystone Post #444 in Millheim. Jim enjoyed taking on home improvement projects, landscaping and woodworking. He was a collector of antiques and especially loved to help family and friends with projects.
In addition to his wife, Jim is survived by one daughter, LeeAnn Bradford of Mesa, AZ; one son, Kevin Bradford (Bonnie) of Reading; one stepson, Dennis Hunziker of Huntsville, AL and three sisters, Jean E. Bloom (John), Susan A. Coursen (Phil) and Diane M. Ward (Harry). Also surviving are eight grandchildren, Emily and Rachel Bradford, and Christopher, Chadoe, DJ, Anthony, Dylan and Trevor Hunziker.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2014 from 1-4 pm at the Fire Hall in Millheim. Contributions in memory of Jim may be given to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or to the Wounded Warrior Project.
