James H. ‘Jimmy’ Ault, 60, of Pleasant Gap, passed away Sunday, July 15, 2012, at Hershey Medical Center. A son of the late Harland E. Ault and Ethel Hendershot Ault, who survives in Axemann, Jim was born on May 29, 1952, in Bellefonte. On June 23, 1973, at the Jacksonville United Church of Christ, he married Sharon Rogers Ault, who survives at home.
Jim was a graduate of Bellefonte Area High School Class of 1970 and received an Associate Degree from South Hills Business School in 1997.
He was last employed at Ridge Homes in Milesburg. He had to give up working in 1983 due to the loss of his sight. He fought a long hard battle since he was 13 years old. Jim lived his life fighting multiple illnesses due to Diabetes. With limited sight Jim produced beautiful pieces of furniture and caned antique chairs. He loved fishing in Canada in his younger days. He loved campfires, his Kubota and his Corvette.
He was a member of the Pleasant Gap United Methodist Church. He was a charter member of the Nittany Antique Machinery Association and member of the National Rifle Association.
Along with his wife and mother, Jim is survived by his son, Justin J. Ault and his wife Jodi Confer Ault, of Zion, a grandchild on the way; two sisters, Barbara Ault of Axemann, Marjorie Ranio and her husband Ted of Axemann, and one brother, Thomas Ault and his wife Dianne also of Axemann.
A public visitation will be held on Thursday, July 19, 2012, from 6-8 pm, at the Pleasant Gap United Methodist Church, 179 S. Main St., Pleasant Gap, PA 16823.
Funeral services and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Pleasant Gap United Methodist Church or the S.P.C.A. 2451 General Potter Hwy, Centre Hall PA 16828.
