Jerry E. Winn, 63, of Bellefonte, PA, died Monday, March 3, 2014. On December 15, 1979, he married Rochelle (Bush) Winn. Jerry was born on June 16, 1950, in Bellefonte, a son of the late Raymond J. and Minnie V. (Catherman) Winn. Jerry had an enriched life with his soul mate, Rochelle. They raised two boys, Jeremy T. Winn and Jared T. Winn.
He was very proud of his boys and the fine young men they became. He was fortunate to have a daughter-in-law, Amy J. Waugh, who was as much a part of the family as his boys. Together Rochelle, Jerry and their family enjoyed boating at Sayers Dam, swimming, kayaking, camping and having get-togethers with family and friends at their home. He and his wife often took trips to their favorite vacation spot in Cape May. Jerry served 26 years in the Pennsylvania Air National Guard before being honorably discharged in 1995. He retired from Penn State University in 2011.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Rochelle Winn of Bellefonte, their sons, Jeremy of Harrisburg and Jared of Bellefonte; a son Jason, two sisters, Judith Lee Royer of Pleasant Gap and Jeanne Audrey Getz of Pleasant Gap; two brothers, John D. of Avis, and James W. of State College.
Jerry would want his family to always remember the wonderful times they enjoyed together, to live their lives to the fullest and to know that they are all connected and forever will be.
Friends will be received on Thursday, March 6, 2014, from 5:00 pm until 6:00pm at Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc. 206 N. Spring Street, Bellefonte, with a memorial service to immediately follow at 6:00 pm with Pastor Doug Sabin officiating. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
