Karen Cheryl Olenick, 61, of State College, passed away Friday, January 25, 2013, at Mount Nittany Medical Center. Born March 19, 1951 in Bellefonte, she was a daughter of the late W. Mahlon Mauck and Sara E. (White) Mauck, who survives in Bellefonte.
Karen was a 1969 graduate of State College Area High School and was a homemaker. She was of the Protestant faith.
She is survived by three daughters; Sara M. Olenick of Portland OR, Mary A. Rayfield and husband Charles of Philadelphia, Liza C. Spooner and husband Scott of Seattle, WA, one son, Jacob S. Olenick of Seattle, WA; two sisters, Marilyn G. Ferlez, of State College, Elaine S. Smith of Zion and one brother, William M. Mauck, Jr. of Canandaigua, NY. Also surviving Karen are three grandsons, Drake and Hudson Spooner, Ethan Rayfield and a fourth grandson on the way.
A public visitation will be held Monday, January 28, 2013, from 11:00 am until noon, at Wetzler Funeral Service Inc., 206 N. Spring St., Bellefonte, PA 16823. Funeral services will immediately follow visitation at 12:00 pm, at the funeral home, with Reverend Frank E. Skies officiating. Burial will follow in Centre County Memorial Park, College Township.
