Leonard John Greenland, 84, formerly of Aaronsburg, PA passed away Wednesday, January 30, 2019. Mr. Greenland was born on January 27, 1935 in Nanticoke PA, the son of the late Leonard Greenland and Martha Jay (Step-Father Leo Jay.) Len graduated from Nanticoke High School in 1952 and was a graduate of Williamsport Technical Institute. He was a draftsman for the Ordnance Research Lab at Penn State and later a Partnership Owner of Greenland’s Store in Aaronsburg, PA until his retirement in 1995. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion and a former member of the Millheim Lions Club, Masonic Lodge in Centre Hall, PA, a life member of the National Rifle Association, and Emeritus member of the High Top Gun Club. He attended the First Christian Church of Inverness, FL.

Len is survived by a sister Joan Williams of Apollo Beach, FL and a stepbrother Leo Jay of Beavertown, PA. He is also survived by three daughters; Jacqui Greenland and her husband, Michael Bierly of Bellefonte, Julie Thompson and her husband, Darryl of Chesterfield VA, and Janel Greenland and her partner Craig Santos of Ben Lomond CA. Also surviving are 8 Grandchildren, Tasha Smith and her husband Ryan, Katie Miller and her husband Joseph, and Maggie Bierly of Bellefonte; Chloe, Sarah, Megan, and David Thompson of Chesterfield VA, and Madelyne Falcone of Raleigh NC and, a great granddaughter, Alaina Mae Smith of Bellefonte. Mr. Greenland is also survived by his stepchildren Burt Stover, Gary Stover, Dan Stover, and Teresa House. He was preceded in death by his sister Janice Malarky, brother, Donald Greenland, and the love of his life his wife, Margaret “Penny” Greenland.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, February 2nd from 9-10:30 am at the Steven R. Neff Funeral Home in Millheim. The funeral service will follow at 10:30 am with Pastor Teresa Hockenberry officiating. Len will be laid to rest in the Salem Lutheran Cemetery in Aaronsburg. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given in the memory of Len to H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center, MBC-Found, 12902 Magnolia Drive, Tampa, FL 33612.
