Mary L.Waite, 82, of Bellefonte, left this earth on Tuesday, September 30, 2014. She spent the last two weeks of her life at Centre Crest where she finally succumbed to various cancers. She will be remembered by family and friends for her heroic battle.
Mary was born in Waddle, PA and lived in the State College/Bellefonte area her entire life. She worked for the Bellefonte Area School District and Center Community Hospital in food services. She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Bellefonte.
She is survived by two daughters: Brenda Greninger and her husband James of Loganton, PA and Kimberly Montgomery and her husband David of Pleasant Gap, PA. Also surviving are six grandchildren: Matthew Dolan, Jason Dolan Sr., Nicholas Montgomery, Benjamin Montgomery, Megan Montgomery, and Jason Dolan Jr., and five great grandchildren. Mary is also survived by two sisters: Dorothy Thomas of Pensacola, Florida, Miriam Margaret Hoover of Michigan, and three brothers: Charles Laird of State College, James Laird and his wife Cindy of Warriors Mark and Robert Laird and his wife Linda of Port Matilda.
In addition to her husband, Philip S. Waite, and her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons; Stephen G. Waite, Gary S. Waite, one grandson, Christopher E. Dolan, and one sister, Carol Ann Lyle.
A service of remembrance will be held on Friday, October 3, 2014 at 1pm at Centre County Memorial Park Mausoleum. Arrangements are under the direction of Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc. in Bellefonte.
